Current Members:

Max Wattenberg, MD (Instructor)
Max completed his BA in biology at the University of Louisville in 2009. He then received his MD from the University of Louisville in 2014. In addition he spent a year at the NCI studying immune mediated mechanisms of radiation and monoclonal antibody combination therapy. He then successfully pursued his internship and residency in internal medical at UCSF ending in 2017. He is currently a medical oncology fellow at the University of Pennsylvania with a research focus on systemic immune health in GI cancers.

Meredith Stone (Postdoctoral Researcher)
Meredith completed her BS in Biology at Cornell University in 2012. She then received her Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Medicine from Johns Hopkins University in 2017, working on the combination of epigenetic and immune therapies in a mouse model of ovarian cancer. Currently, she is studying the impact of a primary pancreatic tumor on the development of a metastatic niche in the liver.
Xiaoqing Pan, MD PhD (Research Specialist)
Yan Li, MD PhD (Research Specialist)
Yan received her MD and PhD degree in 2009. She worked as a postdoc at Abramson Cancer Research Institute at Penn from 2010-2014, focusing on the immune-based therapy of human leukemia/lymphoma by using the bone marrow transplantation model. Yan currently works on the immunobiology of pancreatic cancer and strategies to develop novel immunotherapies for the treatment of this disease.
Devora Delman (Project and Lab Manager)
Heather Coho (Animal Research Specialist)

Renee Chang (Research Specialist)

Jacqueline Plesset (PhD graduate student)
Jackie completed her undergraduate studies in biomedical engineering at Cornell University. She is currently a PhD graduate student in Cancer Biology. Jackie is interested in deciphering mechanisms regulating the fate of tumor-specific T cells in pancreatic cancer.

Stacy Thomas (MD PhD graduate student)
Stacy Thomas completed her undergraduate studies at Providence College. She is currently an MD PhD graduate student in the Immunology Graduate Group at the University of Pennsylvania. For her dissertation, Stacy is studying the role of macrophages in regulating cancer metastasis.

Jesse Lee (PhD graduate student)
Jesse Lee completed his undergraduate studies at Brandeis University. He is now a PhD graduate student in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Pennsylvania. Jesse is studying mechanisms the regulate the formation of niche environments in organs that support cancer metastasis.
